Thursday December 15th 2016 80 participants from Universities in 5 European countries arrived in Tokyo, Japan. These graduate and undergraduate students are taking part in the MIRAI 2016 Winter Program, created by the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Japan (MOFA). MIRAI is the Japanese word for Future and the Program aims to (1) promote mutual-understandings, (2) enhance intellectual discussions and (3) build strong networks among future leaders of Japan and the world.
On the arrival day participants were welcomed by MOFA as well as the two implementing organisations JICE (on the Japanese side) and EFIL (on the European side). Although everyone was tired after long travels form around Europe participants were happy to see each other, learn more about what will happen in the following days and get into the MIRAI spirit.
In the coming days you will be able to read about the exciting adventures in Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto as experienced by MIRAI participants. They will share their impressions, thoughts, learning points and questions throughout the time in Japan.
